Family Fun in Orlando: The Best Attractions You Can’t Miss

Orlando isn’t just a city—it’s a playground for dreamers, thrill-seekers, and little adventurers wide-eyed with wonder. As a tour guide, I’ve had the joy of showing countless families the magic this city holds. And let me tell you—whether you’re racing through theme parks or floating through fairy-tale gardens, the memories you’ll make here are unforgettable.

So come along—I’ll take you through some of my favourite family-friendly experiences that are bound to leave you smiling long after your holiday ends.

Discovering the Magic at Kennedy Space Center

I still remember the look on the kids’ faces the first time we pulled up to the Kennedy Space Center. That massive Saturn V rocket towering above us? Instant goosebumps. It’s not just a museum—it’s a walk through history and into the future.

We touched moon rocks, watched real astronaut footage, and stood where rockets actually launch. My favourite moment? Sitting in the shuttle launch simulator with a 10-year-old boy next to me whispering, “I want to be an astronaut now.” Honestly, same.

Tour Guide Tip: Arrive early and catch the Shuttle Launch Experience before the crowds build. It’s an absolute must.

Wildlife Close-Up at Wild Florida Safari Park

Now, if you’ve ever wanted to say hi to a sloth or feed a giraffe, this is the place. Wild Florida is like a slice of wilderness tucked away from the usual hustle. I took a group through the drive-thru safari and, no joke, an ostrich tapped on our window. The kids lost it—in the best way.

The airboat ride through the Everglades? Pure exhilaration. Wind in your hair, gators lurking just out of sight—it’s thrilling and surprisingly peaceful at the same time.

Local Insight: Wild Florida is family-run, and they’re passionate about conservation. You’ll leave with more than just photos—you’ll leave inspired.

LEGOLAND® Florida Resort: A Bricktastic Adventure

This one’s a crowd favourite—especially for the under-12s. LEGOLAND® Florida is colourful chaos in the best way. I loved watching parents and kids race each other in driving school, and MiniLand USA? It’s like America in miniature, built completely out of LEGO bricks.

We took a spin on the Dragon Coaster, wandered through the water park, and yes—even built our own LEGO racing cars (mine lost spectacularly, but we don’t talk about that).

Travel Tip: Pack swimsuits for the water park—it’s huge and a perfect way to cool off after all that running around.

Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf: A Swashbuckling Good Time

Ahoy, mateys! Pirate’s Cove is where I take families when we want something light-hearted and fun in the evening. Think waterfalls, treasure chests, and pirate lore wrapped into a mini-golf course.

One night, a little girl in our group insisted on playing every hole in her eye patch and bandana from the gift shop—staying in character the whole time. Loved that energy.

Sea Life Orlando Aquarium: An Underwater Wonderland

This one always surprises people. Sea Life isn’t huge, but it’s immersive and enchanting. We walked through the 360° ocean tunnel surrounded by sharks and rays—it felt like we were inside a giant aquarium ourselves.

There’s a jellyfish wall that changes colour with light and a touch pool where the kids were fascinated by starfish. Quiet, cool, and calming—perfect for a breather day.

Did You Know? The aquarium is committed to ocean conservation and helps rescue and rehabilitate sea turtles.

Madame Tussauds Orlando: Celeb Selfies & Laughs All Around

From wax superheroes to pop stars, Madame Tussauds had everyone in our group grinning. I once had a dad nearly convince his daughter that he really met Taylor Swift. The wax figures are that lifelike.

We had a blast posing with The Rock, Spider-Man, and even Einstein (he got a hug from a curious five-year-old). It’s silly fun—and isn’t that what family holidays are all about?

Fun Fact: The figures take months to create and cost around $300,000 each. So maybe don’t poke their noses.

Crayola Experience: Where Imagination Runs Wild

Crayola Experience is one of my go-tos for creative play. It’s bright, hands-on, and incredibly colourful—just like childhood should be. We melted crayons into shapes, made personalised labels, and watched a live show about how crayons are made.

One of the mums teared up seeing her son so focused while designing his “very serious” superhero with a rainbow cape. Moments like that stay with you.

Local Tip: Don’t miss the drip art station—it’s mesmerising, and you get to take home your masterpiece.

The Wheel at ICON Park: A View to Remember

No trip to Orlando is complete without seeing it from the top. The Wheel at ICON Park stands 400 feet tall, and the views are unbeatable—especially at sunset. We piled into our glass capsule and just… watched the city glow.

It’s a great way to wind down the day. Families chat, share photos, and reflect on all the fun they’ve had. That quiet awe? It’s magic.

Tour Guide Tip: Pair it with dinner at one of the nearby restaurants. There’s something magical about watching the lights come on across the skyline while sipping a cold drink.

A Journey Full of Joy, Laughter, and Connection

Every family I’ve guided through Orlando leaves with stories to tell—about the gators they saw, the coasters they rode, the LEGO tower they built, or the astronaut dreams that took flight. But more than the attractions, it’s the togetherness that sticks. The laughs. The wow-moments. The hugs after a ride that was “too scary but so fun!”

Orlando has a way of turning ordinary days into lifelong memories.

So if you’re planning a family trip, trust me—this city is packed with magic waiting to happen.
