Review of the Virgin Australia Domestic Lounge in Melbourne
We recently had our first visit to the Virgin Australia Domestic Lounge at Melbourne Airport. The lounge is quite expansive and stylish and had extensive views of the airport tarmac.
Food & Beverages
While the food quality here is not as good as the Qantas Domestic Lounge, there is enough of a selection for a decent bite to eat. We were there for lunch which consisted of different salad options, pastas, cold cuts and the usual sandwich maker ingredients. There was also a fresh fruit station and snack options.
The complimentary alcohol begins at 11.00am (one hour before the Qantas lounge) and had a good selection of beer and wines (no spirits though).
For coffee lovers, there is the Barista Bar where you can enjoy a freshly made espresso.
Premium Exit
One of the great features of this Virgin Australia Lounge is the premium exit facility. If your plane is leaving from gates 1-10 you can use this fast track exit that has its own two private security screening lanes. This means no queuing up with everyone else in the main security lines!
